Description

Off the Wagon Dueling Piano Bar,is located in at 22 North Market Street, in Asheville, North Carolina. The building is part of the city's history, having once housed the Asheville Chamber of Commerce in the 1920's.

The musicians don't take themselves too seriously and they will impress you with their vast repertoire of songs; this is an all request show, there is no set play list. Sometimes even the servers and bartenders become part of the show, so be prepared for anything!

The atmosphere is total rock and roll and sing-along. Local businessmen Benjamin Reese and Jess Mills saw the need years ago for an interactive music venue and Off the Wagon was born. Benjamin served in the United States Air Force for several years and still holds the rank of Major in the Air National Guard. Jess worked all across the country as a dueling pianist, which included time playing at the legendary Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

Off the Wagon doesn't serve food, but they have a wide drink selection. Annual membership is $1 and last one year from date of purchase. There is a five dollar cover charge on Friday and Saturday nights. Club hours are 7PM through 2AM, Wednesday through Sunday. Large parties and groups are encouraged to make reservations before 9PM, because the place fills up fast.

The club is proud of it's military connection; all military (active, retired, reserve) and first responders (police, firefighters, and paramedics) who show their ID, get in free on the weekends. Benjamin and Jess are proud of their business, it's one of several that helped revitalize Asheville.

The building even has its own ghost that's been named Frank. The bar even has a drink named for him, the "Fearsome Frank". If you're in Asheville and you want to spend a fun evening in a venue with a sense of history, great musicians, and owners who are proud of America, come to Off the Wagon Rocks.
