showmanship

When we talk about performance, we often refer to both showmanship and talent.

Showmanship

A very multi-talented friend of mine once told me, “People hear with their eyes.” At first, I felt someone offended. I felt it was completely dismissive to one’s talent. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that he was right. Personality is a part of talent. In fact, personality is what creates the music you hear. It should be a part of every musician’s show. If it is not, then the audience is getting a “shell” performance.

Music should be expressive and create a connection with the audience. Our performers enjoy sharing their personality with audiences. This can be as subtle as a smile, or it can be more engaging, encouraging the audience to clap or sing along. The degree of engagement can be up to you. However, our performers are already experienced in creating the perfect level of engagement without creating overbearing banter.

At the end of the night, your guests will not just be interested in listening, but they will be interested in watching (even if it is just that subtle smile.)

Talent

Talent comes in many forms, but lets cut to the chase. We provide you with skilled musicians. Not only can they play a variety of genres (including classical and jazz) but they have keen ears to be able to pick out songs on the spot. Quite simply, that is our main gig – providing an all-request show and delivering an interpretation of the song that can be completely accurate or unique. It is always fun to hear how your favorite band song might sound on just a piano.

Our musicians make that happen. Give them your requests and you can be sure that they will play them!

If you prefer a less engaging show, with no requests – no problem! Our musicians love what they do, and could sit at a piano and mic for hours, delivering the kind of music that you feel is perfect for your event/venue and audience.
