What Are Dueling Pianos?
Dueling piano shows cater specifically to each event and audience. They provide great entertainment for weddings, corporate events, private parties, bars/restaurants, and practically any other opportunity where people congregate to have a good time.
Dueling piano shows provide an all-request format, where patrons write their requests on a slip of paper and leave it on either of the piano shells.
The pianist then provide a piano/vocal version of any song that comes there way. And I really mean ‘anything.’ Much of the appeal is in the ability to knock out songs that might have been forgotten, or maybe would not be imagined on a piano. Or perhaps the songs are technically challenging. Whatever it is, the pianists perform it.
Also in a general setting there is a lot of interaction with the audience. The idea is to get the audience singing along, dancing, and laughing. People who are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other life event are often brought up to the stage for a quick roast, where the pianists often play a funny song parody based on their situation.
